    Description

16 Coin 1971 - 1978 Eisenhower Dollar & 11 Coin 1979 – 1999 Susan B Anthony Dollar Complete Uncirculated Business Strike Philadelphia/Denver/San Francisco Coin Set in New Whitman Folder w Major Eisenhower Varieties
Up for sale is a reasonably priced 27 Uncirculated 1971 - 1978 Eisenhower and 1979 – 1999 Susan B Anthony  Philadelphia/Denver/San Francisco (PDS) Coin Set (note there are only 3 regular business strike "S" coins in these series, all in the Susan B Anthony set) in a new Whitman Folder.
    All of the coins are
uncirculated (most from mint sets or mint bags) and all exhibit original mint luster (some may have light toning from being in the rolls/bags for decades).
This is a nice uncirculated set showcasing
all dates from the Eisenhower and Susan B Anthony Dollar series released into general circulation
(plus the 1973 P & D Eisenhower coins not released into circulation and only found in the US Mint Sets in 1973) in a new Whitman folder (note
    this set contains no proofs
    ).
Given I have more than one of these sets to sell, t
he coins in the pictures will go to the first buyer with others receiving equal quality uncirculated coins.  Note that all of these coins are clad as there were no silver issues for the Susan B Anthony series and although there were 40% silver issue Eisenhower coins, none were general circulation coins and hence not included in this set.  Also, I have included both the Type I (thick lettered reverse) and Type II bicentennial P&D coins in this set. These are nice uncirculated sets at very reasonable pricing.  I have sold a large number (>40) of these sets given the nice quality at a reasonable price.
The Eisenhower Dollar series began in 1971 and was the first large dollar US coin minted using the "clad" copper nickel formulation.  After the coins were largely rarely used in circulation due to their heft and size the mint discontinued the series in 1978 in hopes that a small dollar alternative to be released in 1979 would better circulate.  The Susan B Anthony series was minted from 1979 through 1981 at all of the major mints (Philadelphia, Denver and San Francisco) but did not circulate well and was derided as a "Carter quarter" due to the relative similarity in size to a quarter, as well as the similar edge reeding and color to a quarter.  Between 1982 and 1998 no small dollar coins were minted in the US.  In 1999 the mint once again minted the Susan B Anthony coins, this time only at Philadelphia and Denver before with the start of the new millennium a new small dollar coin, the Sacagawea Dollar series, began in hopes of getting Americans to adopt dollar coins (unfortunately even with the new "golden" color and smooth reeding of the Sacagawea, that series does not circulate either and is only minted today for collectors).
